United for Medical Research Statement on NIH’s Bypass Budget for Alzheimer’s

July 27, 2015

United for Medical Research released this statement following today’s announcement of NIH’s bypass budget for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias:

“The National Institute of Health explained today how it will take considerably more resources to adequately fight Alzheimer’s disease and to find a cure for this dreaded disease.  It serves as a salient reminder of why it is so important that funding of NIH must catch up and keep up in order to prevent, treat, and cure our most vexing diseases.  United for Medical Research believes that goal is within our reach because of the strong bipartisan, bicameral congressional consensus that federal funding of biomedical research is a strategic national priority.”
